Diana holds a BS degree in Biochemistry and a PhD in Cellular Biology by the University of Zaragoza (Spain). Her thesis was focused on the study of epigenetic regulation of endogenous retroviruses in embryonic stem cells. In 2013 she moved to Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (New York, USA) where she continued exploring pluripotency from a proteomic perspective, and became interested in studying the interplay of epigenetic regulators with RNA. Recently, she has been appointed principal investigator at the Center for Research in Molecular Medicine and Chronic Diseases (CiMUS, University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain) with a Ramón y Cajal award, where she is focussing on the interplay of epigenetics and epitranscriptomics in stem cells and ageing.
